Major leak or flooding: do this now

  1. If it is safe to do so, turn off the water at the stopcock (usually under the kitchen sink or near the front door).
  2. Keep away from electrics and sockets that may be wet, and do not touch them.
  3. If water is near the fuse board or anyone is at risk, call 999.
